Exterior Home Design Trends Spring 2020

Spring is here! And that means new design trends are coming into play. Here are my favorite design trends for spring 2020! These are all design trends for the exterior of homes. Some of these might seem like they don’t matter, but I promise, it’s the details that count.

1. Wood

Using wood beams, accents, doors, etc. is now in place of white accents. Things like garage doors and wood beams might not seem important, but they make a key difference.

2. Small Bushes

Giant hedges and other bushes are a thing from the past. Having multiple small bushes instead of one big one is the way to go.

3. Modern Porch Lighting

Depending on the style of the home (ex. Midcentury modern, traditional), there’s always a light fixture that will update the appearance of the home.

4. Front Porch

A front porch is a timeless feature that adds curb appeal to any home. Modern porches have nice touches like wood beams, roof arches, and a newer railing.

5. Shingle Siding

Although this has been a feature of homes built in the 2010s, shingle siding is still in style in 2020. Colors like beige, gray, green, and sometimes, blue are frequently used with shingle siding.
